Nothing really, that's what's so sad. All the fun has gone, all we do is argue about the house (chores, decorating etc.)

Maybe it's just as well to find this out now so we don't go on making each other unhappy for years to come.

I can't say whether you should get married or not, all I can say is that it makes a big difference to me to be married rather than just living together.

Yep, M&S is on the list. I've also heard that TK Maxx do a good range, but they tend to have one off dresses so you have to be lucky.

i bought 33 (yes, 33!) wedding dresses from an auction house not so long ago, varying sizes from 8-18. All of them were new, and froom bankrupt liquidation stock. All had tags and price labels in, and ranged from £250 up to £800. I sold about a dozen of them individually on ebay, the highest bid i got was £70 but some went for £10-£20. Then sold the remainder as a job lot to someone starting a hire shop.

So look around, they are out there. Incidentally, i paid under £300 for the whole lot.

Couldn't agree with you more. From my perspective (albeit wedding bells aren't being tuned as I type) if people spent more time thinking about why they want to marry and what it means and less on how much the dress cost - well maybe they may marry for the right reasons ?

I heard marks and spencer do lovely wedding dresses. Shame the Irish stores dont have the wedding range yet! My mum is making my wedding dress and im so excited about it!

The BHS stuff is really nice, I had a dress from there when my sister got married and you really couldn't tell it was much cheaper than stuff from 'proper' bridal-wear shops

My ring is pure glass and it's still pretty sparkly :>>

I got married in a £30 dress from Etam - it was cream with a little lacy cardigan but it looked really expensive and I was well chuffed with it!

Less money spent on dress = more money for booze!

hi, congratulations. little tip - buy as much as poss off ebay and the net balloons, invitations, things like that- im getting married next year and ive already saved a bomb - even got my dress super cheap and made to my own design and mesurements, sounds nasty but its gorgeous and better quality than some ive seen in wedding shops Zoe x
